Dear members of the St. Charles Old Boys Association,
We are all excited with the upcoming Biennial Convention, which will take place from June 3rd to 9th, 2024. To enhance the festivities and capture the spirit of our reunion, we have organized a photographic competition.

    Competition Details:

  1. Participation:
All members are invited to participate by capturing moments during the convention using their smartphones.
  2. Submission:
At the end of the convention, each member should select their top ten photographs and submit them to the website admin team.
  3. Gallery Display:
The selected photographs will be showcased in a special gallery on our website for everyone’s enjoyment and edification.
  4. Judging:
A select committee will carefully evaluate the submissions and declare the winner of the Biennial Photographic Competition.

Let’s celebrate our shared memories and create lasting images that reflect the camaraderie of our SCOBA community. We look forward to seeing your creative captures!

Photographic tips: Make sure your smartphone-camera is held in the landscape orientation and its resolution setting is set to maximum

The SCOBA Endowment Fund: A Strategic Vision for the Future:

Our goal is to establish a N250 million Endowment Fund, a strategic, long-term initiative that will provide financial stability and enduring protection for SCOBA. This fund aims to break the cycle of exhaustive fundraising for specific projects, offering a more sustainable long-term solution for the challenges our beloved school faces.

Objectives of the N250m Endowment Fund:
  • 1. Ensuring Long-Term Financial Stability:
Creating a permanent funding source for operational expenses, capital improvements, and critical needs.
  • 2. Supporting Academic Excellence:
Providing scholarships and grants, supporting faculty recruitment, and fostering innovative academic programs.
  • 3. Fostering Community:
Strengthening the bond among current and former students, teachers, and staff through events, networking, and programs that promote values important to our community.
  • 4. Enhancing Facilities and Infrastructure:
Investing in building renovations, technology upgrades, and acquiring new equipment for a more functional learning environment.
  • 5. Ensuring Accessibility and Inclusivity:
Supporting initiatives that promote diversity, equity, and inclusion, and providing financial assistance to students and SCOBA members in need.
How You Can Contribute:
  • 1. Alumni Donations:
Letters have been dispatched to various Branches, Chapters, and Stanzas, specifying a minimum contribution to the Endowment Funds. You may submit your donations through any of these channels or directly to the Endowment Funds account. Please NOTE that all High Networth Charleans (NHCs) who have recieved personalised letters are NOT EXPECTED to route their donations through their Stanzas. Donations in response to the personalised letters should be sent DIRECTLY to the Endowment Funds Committee or through CEC
  • 2. Corporate Sponsorships:
You can identify corporate companies interested in supporting education for potential donations and mutual benefits. Then share the details with any member of the SEF Committee for follow up.
  • 3. Grants:
Share any information about available grants from government agencies, private foundations, and organizations with members of SEF Commitee, so we can file our application to explore such opportunities.
  • 4. Fundraising Events:
Be ready to participate in upcoming SEF events, which may include auctions, galas, or charity walks designed to raise funds and awareness.
  • 5. Planned Giving:
