From Osogbo to the world stage, our Old Boy’s journey of diligence, integrity, and service continues to inspire.
Dr Abimbade Abdulyekeen Adeshina
Distinguished Charleans
🎓 On Saturday, November 29, 2025, Delta State witnessed a moment of pride as our distinguished Old Boy, Dr Abimbade Abdulyekeen Adeshina — fondly known as Bade Adeshina — was conferred with an Honorary Doctor of Management Science (Honoris Causa) in Entrepreneurial Finance and Management by Edwin Clark University. The ceremony, part of the institution’s combined convocation, gathered leaders from industry, academia, and government, all united in celebrating a man whose career has been defined by excellence and service.
🌟 The Vice Chancellor of ECU, Prof. Samuel Tita Wara, extolled Adeshina’s virtues as an astute finance entrepreneur and administrator, noting his innovation in financial management and his dedication to human empowerment. He praised Adeshina’s support for the university, including donations that have opened doors for the less privileged. In his acceptance speech, Adeshina humbly pledged to continue rendering steady service to both the university and the nation, reminding all that ethical leadership and commitment to learning are the bedrock of strong institutions.
👨👩👧👦 Family and friends added warmth to the occasion. His wife of 40 years, Alhaja Asisat Olanike Adeshina, described him as meticulous and blessed with grace, while long‑time friends like Ade Odunewu and S.K. Babalola testified to his humility, tenacity, and resourcefulness. Colleagues such as Dr Ahmed Popoola of CRC Credit Bureau highlighted his integrity and mentorship, recalling their bond since their University of Lagos days. Indeed, the chorus of admiration painted a portrait of a man who inspires by example.
💼 Professionally, Adeshina’s résumé is nothing short of stellar. With over three decades of experience spanning commercial and investment banking, asset management, stockbroking, public service, and consulting, he has held C‑suite and board positions across Nigeria and abroad. From leading CDL Asset Management Limited to serving as Special Adviser in Osun State, and now chairing Goldfield Group and Health Assur Ltd, his career reflects strategic vision, governance acumen, and a knack for building institutions that endure. He even extends his reach internationally through Ultra Goldfield Logistics in the UK, leveraging AI in logistics.
🏆 For us, Charleans, this honour is more than a feather in his cap — it is a reminder of the values instilled at St. Charles Grammar School, Osogbo. Discipline, integrity, and service have guided Charlean Bade Adeshina’s journey, and his recognition by ECU is a celebration of those ideals. As Old Boys, we rejoice in his achievements, proud that one of our own continues to shine so brightly on the national and global stage. May his story inspire younger Charleans to pursue excellence with courage, humility, and the trademark resilience of our alma mater.
