While in St. Charles, he was quite active in the Dramatic Arts and was Vice President of the School’s Dramatic Society, taking lead roles in many stage productions and ultimately developed this talent, culminating in his being a playwright & actor as past time in years gone by. The first Movie production of Gateway Television (then OGTV) in 1980, titled Have Mercy was written by him, with him as Lead Actor.

He commenced his professional Banking career in 1982 with the defunct National Bank of Nigeria Ltd in Benin City, joined the then Eko International Bank PLC (now Polaris Bank ), Lagos as a pioneer Management Staff in 1988. A culmination of his 10-year banking experience, he voluntarily resigned in January 1992 to start his first entrepreneurial initiative, Trustworth Finance & Investments Ltd. In 1993, he founded Corporate Institutions Training Consult, now CITC Global Consulting Ltd., affiliated to the International Federation of Training & Development Organisations (IFTDO).

He was elected the 10th National President of St. Charles Grammar School, Osogbo Old Boys Association in 2010, and was unanimously re-elected for a second term as President of the Old Boys Association in March 2012, completing a well accomplished tenure in February 2014.

Under his OBA Presidency, numerous fundamental and transformational achievements were made in SCOBA including reformation of the OBA to central and global rather than national structure in line with current realities, transiting from National Executive Committee to the Central Executive Council (CEC); formal Registration of the Old Boys Association with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), constitution of the OBA Board of Trustees, institution of numerous welfare, educative and health programmes for Old Boys, various academic support initiatives for then students  as well as conceptualization and commencement of building of the Bashorun Rotimi Obeisun Alumni Hall of the Old Boys Association, completed to reasonable milestone.

Given the array of talents within the SCOBA family, ascending the leadership of SCOBA at age 48/49 (with strings of 'firsts' and laudable achievements) was and remains an unprecedented feat - and that speaks volume of the cerebral endowment of the persona of today's birthday boy, PP Tayo Orekoya.

Worthy of note too is his elder brother, Charlean Jide Orekoya, also of the same 737 Stanza and a Past Vice Chairman, Lagos State Chapter of SCOBA.

Past President Charlean Tayo Orekoya is happily married to Mrs. Abimbola Orekoya, an old girl of Baptist Girls Grammar School, Osogbo (BAPTO) and they are blessed with wonderful children and a grandson.

His hobbies include playing Golf, Lawn Tennis, watching movies.

As we rejoice with him, his family, Stanza 737, SCOBA in general, friends and associates, please celebrate this special day (365 days short of his Diamond Jubilee Anniversary) that the Lord has made in giving us a unique leader in this Past President, Charlean Tayo Orekoya. Do this via your congratulatory messages through this medium and, or personal calls to him.

May the good Lord continue to grant him good health, all-round success in his endeavors and divine longevity.

    Big congratulations, Sir!

    Humility! Humilitas!!
